Starting in August 2026, Dr. Katja Stürzebecher, a long-time senior physician in the Department of Angiology at the University Hospital in Basel, will join the medical team. Her office hours are held every Tuesday. Her areas of special interest include varicose veins—including their minimally invasive treatment—lipedema, vascular diseases in athletes, and the early detection of atherosclerosis.     In our practice, we carry out the standard outpatient, minimally invasive vein therapies for the treatment of varicose veins (vein laser, miniphlebectomy, foam sclerotherapy). These procedures can be performed gently and under local anesthesia only. The recovery time is usually 2 to 3 days.

    We treat spider veins using liquid sclerotherapy.
